“Invest An Acre”, a program initiated by The Howard G. Buffett Foundation, Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) and Feeding America, is the first wide-scale effort to organize U.S. farmers to support hunger relief. One out of six people in the U.S. go hungry. Problems associated with hunger are not just confined to certain areas, or neighborhoods. In fact, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 14.7 percent of rural households were consistently short on food. The Invest an Acre program makes it easy for farmers to make an impact and to help feed those going hungry in their own communities.
